Confused about my adderall?!

Question:

Confused about my adderall?

last summer, i was put on adderall for the school year, around november i stoppd taking it....

today i finally took it for the first time in november... i have grown to be about 10 pounds heaver than the last time i took it. so yea, i took 15 mg today and it did absolutely nothing!!! i didn't feel anything. i don't feel as if the dosage is too low because even if i have gained some weight, it isn't really enough to have an effect, and the fact that i have been off of it for so long and started it again today for the first time wouldn't that mean it would hit me hard and work really well?? the expiration is 9/28/07 (hasn thappened it) so why isn't it working?!?!?!

Answers: There are several things that could be the cause.
Pills that aren't kept in a good atmosphere (either too hot/cold, too humid, etc) can go bad and/or lose potency earlier than the expiration.
It's very possible (as is often with drugs) that your system may have adapted to it and gotten used to it where it doesn't work the same for you. It's very important to NOT increase your dosage without seeing your doctor, and most drugs shouldn't be increased more than once or twice.... after that, you should find a different product, as you could get addicted to such a high dose (which happens more than doctors like to admit).
It's possible that something happened during the day (stress, exercise, or something else that your body isn't used to having) that made your body basically overcome whatever chemical difference the drug gave you. In other words, it's possible that it DID work, but you didn't feel it working.
Needless to say, all of those are theories, as in-depth tests would need to be done to find out for sure.

I'm willing to bet that a mere 10 pounds won't make any difference in how well it works for you (maybe 2% difference, but not much). Source(s):
Health/nutrition classes, personal experience, plus I'm a Product Specialist for a vitamin company One thing to remember is not to eat or drink anything with Vitamin C until night time, Vitamin C cancels the effects of Adderall.
