MEAT PIE CRUST

2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cut in:

1/2 c. shortening, like making pie crust

Add:

1 egg
3 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. lemon juice

Roll 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch thick and put on top of meat that has been cooked and chopped (Add thickened broth to the meat). Bake at 350 degrees (9 x 12 inch pan) until golden brown.

51/2 cups flour (all purpose)
2 tea spoons salt and 1 tea spoon baking powder
2 Tble. spoons sugar
1 cup shortening
1 egg
1 large can evaporated milk
Method
mix togeather all dry ingredents add shortening and cut into dry ingredents untill like course meal.

add egg to evaporated milk beat untill combined add to dry ingredents mix untill barely incorperated make a ball of the dough wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. roll dough to fit your pan fill pan with filling cover with crust .
combine 1 egg and 1/4 cup water beat untill foamy add 1 tea spoon oil beat to combine brush pie with this mixture (do not cover edges )or they will get to brown.
bake at 360*F to 375*F untill golden brown
about 3o min. depending on oven.

experence Savory Pie Crust

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoons cold water

1. Combine flour and salt in medium bowl; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in chives and water with fork just until flour is moistened (mixture will be crumbly). Shape into ball; flatten slightly.
2. Roll out ball of dough on lightly floured surface into 12-inch circle. Fold into quarters. Place dough into 9-inch pie pan. Unfold dough; pressing firmly against bottom and sides. Trim crust to 1/2 inch from edge of pan. Crimp or flute edge.
3. Fill and bake according to pie recipe directions.

Makes Pastry for 1-crust pie. You can make your own pie crust but really you can't do any better than the Pillsbury Ready Crusts at the grocery store.
