http://tastefullysimple.com/web/dgoodacr... you could give him noodles or soup in a thermo flask to keep it hot all day He needs a good thermos. You could warm up all kinds of food and put in it. depending on how sophisticated his palate is, i made up this sandwich that ROCKS! 2 slices of good french bread about 3/4 in. thick. kalamata olive spread ( or make your own w/pitted kalamatas in the blender or food processor ) brie cheese and sliced radishes. salt and pepper if desired. a glass of good red wine goes beautifully ( perhaps not at work ) I have the same problem. I eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, nuts, cereal and grains, occasional granola bars or yogurt to keep me going. I usually look forward to a good dinner when I get home, though, as you do get bored with the same foods all the time. Why not get some roast chicken or roast meat from the night before say if your having it for dinner then save some for his lunch, and just make it into a sandwich with letuce, tomato, mayo, whatever he likes, or you can put hot sauce on it if he likes heat. You can get lebanses bread put some cheese, ham, tomato, avocado, cucumber and roll it up and jut gril it for him at home and wrap it up with foil it will still retain some heat from the grilling and stay a bit warm. You can give him a small can of tuna and he can make his own sandwich, just supply him with the bread and the fillings of his choice and he can put it together so it doesn't get soggy. hummus and pita chips
spinach dip and baguette slices
cold roasted chicken pieces ( like the kind you can buy hot in the grocery store )
use a thermos and the possiblities are endless.. just make sure to warm the thermos up before filling with hot food so it keeps the food hot hot hot ! you heat it up by filling with boiling water and letting sit 10 min...sealed of course. mix a can of tuna, canned mixed and chopped vegetables, about 1/2 a cup of mayonaisse, some salt and pepper. spread on tostadas, tortillas or taco shells, can add hot sauce or jalape?os you could make him something that is made to be cold, like pasta salad, or chicken salad...even if you mixed it up and made different types of sandwiches, like pita, or a wrap, a focicia sandwhiches you can put all types of things in... Make small batches of vegan (no meat, no egg, no cheese) oil and vinegar based salad made with veggies, and any grain or pasta. Change it up by using different combinations, different oils, different vinegars, different herbs and spices and possibly adding nuts or dried fruits.

You can also freeze meats that are good served at room temperature, such as chicken pieces, chunks of ham, or small meatballs. Freeze them individually on cookie sheets, then put single portions into quart-size freezer bags. Take the bagged portion out of the freezer and put the bag into the lunchbox. It will be thawed out by lunchtime. Instead of a sandwich he could have meat and dinner rolls.
