What is the best way to bake cookies when you have an oven that turns off once in a while?!

Question:

What is the best way to bake cookies when you have an oven that turns off once in a while?

Answers: try these no-bake cookies

Chocolate Fudge Oatmeal Cookies

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons cocoa
4 ounces butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats

PREPARATION:
Combine sugar, milk, cocoa, and butter in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and chopped nuts. Add oatmeal and stir to blend thoroughly.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Makes about 4 dozen no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies. Well just hope and pray that it won't do while the cookies are in. You should buy a new oven. I would get a new oven or just buy them fresh from a bakery. Does the oven actually quit working or is it just cycling in order to maintain the set temperature? Cycling (the little red oven light will go out) is perfectly normal. If you open the oven door so the temperature drops, the light should go on again. If the oven is actually malfunctioning, your best bet is to get an oven thermometer and see if it holds the temperature long enough to bake cookies - usually 8 to 15 minutes depending on the recipe. Make no bake cookies, Search the site 'All recipes'. These cookies are drop cookies. They are combined on the stove top in a pot. Good luck It is normal for ovens to cycle on and off to maintain the temperature inside the oven. If your oven is maintaining a constant temperature with the door closed it is operating normally and there is nothing to worry about. If your oven is not maintaining a constant temperature it is broken and it is time to call a repair man. Ovens, at least older ones, are fairly basic mechanisms and not horribly expensive to have repaired. It could just be a bad connection to a heating element.

Either way, for safety's sake, just have a reputable handyman/handwoman come over to fix it.

Cookies are always more fun when you don't have to worry about a gas or electrical fire killing you and your family. Good luck... As long as the oven is the right temp when you put the cookies in I can't imagine it cools down fast enough to stop baking them. It might take a little longer but they should cook. This is how I make my cookies. I go to the store and buy them. I put them in the cookie jar and lite a candle that smells like cookies. The kids think I made them.
