Should men take a vitamin supplement that contain iron?!

Question:

Should men take a vitamin supplement that contain iron?

Answers: Whether you're a man or a woman doesn't matter..... your height and weight don't matter...... your medical history doesn't matter. No individual category makes any difference on if you should have extra Iron, but ALL of them combined make a HUGE difference.
You need to ask your doctor if you should take any extra Iron or not because your doctor can look at all the factors together. Your doctor will be able to look at the whole picture, not just a small part of it.

Yes, Iron and any other mineral can and will build up in your system and cause problems. Iron specifically is toxic in too high of a dose... BUT Iron is also a required daily nutrient in smaller doses along with several other minerals. Source(s):
I'm a Product Specialist for a vitamin company no. To much iron in the system and you have to be bleed. I'm not kidding. Now if he needs iron to build up his blood then yes. NO ONE should take a vitamin that contains iron unless they know for sure they are iron deficient! To much iron can and will damage your liver!!!!!!! It couldnt hurt anyone to take an iron supplement. It can be hard to take in enough iron just from the food we eat, so a little extra iron would be good. You do have to know how much iron you have in the foods you consume and consulting a doctor couldnt hurt, but, especially after a certain age, we all could use a little something extra. Men shouldn't take supplements with iron because the iron may build up in their system and could lead to serious health issues. Do a web search and you'll find lots of information about this. Not unless you want to lick a rusty nail. Chelated or not... small doses or not... Its not how the cell recognizes it. It only recognizes it from plant form. This is very cutting edge information, thus many people are still stuck in the "old school" of what vitamin/minerals are all about.

FYI: the main problem that stops up public portable bathrooms, (porta-potties) are synthetic vitamin/minerals such as the top seller called Centrum. They do not digest. So, people are essentially supplementing with rocks. We are designed to get it from the leaf of a plant.

Google video with information about vitamin/minerals that are plant form. This is an innovative discovery. Message me if you have questions. The amount of iron in a multivitamin is small and most people are marginally deficient in iron so a multivitamin is fine.

As for an iron supplement, this should only be taken if you are actually deficient in iron. Too much iron is no good for you and an iron overload can form iron plaque on your artery walls and clog them up like cholesterol.
