Is celery juice a good home remedy to use for getting rid of excess fluid?!

Question:

Is celery juice a good home remedy to use for getting rid of excess fluid?

Answers: No! Celery actually has a naturally high salt content and would probably not be good for getting rid of excess fluid. Stay away from salty foods, chips, pretzels, hot dogs, pizza, etc. Black, white, or green teas act as a natural diuretic (even decaf if your worried about caffiene) and can help some. But, truth be known, and I know this may sound funny, but if you are retaining fluid, make sure you are drinking enough plain, cold (cold water gets to your cells/muscles quicker) water. (8 8-ounce cups/day is recommended, more if you do heavy exercise!). When you don't, your body hoards water in your cells, leading to the bloating of excess fluids, and when you drink enough water, it'll actually release fluids in your cells, thereby lessening the bloating and water gain. That's just the way our body works! celery is better - why juice it? I prefer cranberry juice which works better for me. It's a mild diuretic, yes, but talk to your doctor before you go taking diuretics on your own whims. It can have a significant effect on blood pressure.

Black tea is another natural diuretic.
