Answers: it could be bad on your heart if you sleep 12 hours a day, every day, for weeks on end. A study that included more than a million participants found people who sleep eight hours or more died younger.

Those who only managed four or less hours in the land of nod were similarly affected but six or seven hours a night was found to be conducive to a longer life.

The research, carried out by scientists at the University of California, showed a clear association between long duration sleep and high mortality rates. 8 hours is enough but it you still want to sleep, then go on... it is considered as one of the luxury in life... Well that depends, do you usually sleep that much or is it a new pattern in your sleep that has just recently started? Some people require more sleep than others and some people just really like to sleep! i do it all the time, when i'm making up for sleep Six hours sleep is necessity, eight hours sleep is comfort and more than eight hours sleep is luxury. One should preferably get up before the sun rise. Getting up after sun rise may cause some health problems. Thanks. It's OK occasionally. You may be anemic, you may be bored, or you just may need more than 8 hours of sleep daily. There have been days when I just got out of bed to get a drink, and pee, and then back to bed I went; for 24 hours. We are all individual. If its boredom, go to museums, or take a walk in the park, and watch how industrious ants are. Sit on a park bench and just watch folks. Not as a critic, but as a student. Write your TRUE feelings in a journal. learn how to knit, or crochet. Makes no difference your gender. Or just simply keep sleeping. Bloody hell you lazy sod ........i wish i could sleep for that long :) It can be and it can also be good to.it really depends on your pattern of sleep and how your health is ..I am not a Doctor so i cant really say but my Doc has told me that 6 to 8 is good but also sleeping over 8 is alright as well or under 6... 12 hours could also mean that you are feeling depression or something is bothering you...other times you just don't wake until 12 hours later.I have a few friends WHO go to sleep and don't Wake up until 10 hours later so that must be normal because they did not wake now if you wake in 8 hours then staying up might be good then going back to sleep..when you go back to sleep that's like." i don't have a life" i want to sleep see what i mean (depression) ... But really its all up to the person and there health i use to sleep allot and it feels good and i look great..I am in my late 40`s and look 30 so i think i am doing good if you sleep under 8 you can look old at 30....true fact here...

If you sleep 12 hours a day every day, it's not quite as bad, but if your sleep schedule fluctuates it can cause serious problems. One that most people notice is weight gain... you're not awake enough to be burning enough calories to stay healthy... which overtime can cause organ failure.

peace Too much sleep is almost as bad as too little sleep and makes you feel weak and tired.
