It worked for us, and this was a common cure for most ailments. Every time I sugest this here I get negitive answers. It is one of the cures for all ailments.

Answers: hmm, i wouldnt try something i dont understand! i have tried just about every type of medicine... from chinese, modern, blah blah blah... i've tried all or most types even reflexology! but before i try it i need to know what its about! i have never heard of enema... so, i would do some research about it! I think because we now have much better ways of dealing health problems and an enema is the last resort. My mum told me when she trained as a nurse in the 60's, hospitals were obsessed with the idea that purgatives cured all known diseases. I think with better education and greater knowledge, most people know now that this is not the case. I agree . I had a few in my day .
GOD BLESS Not at all sure I can agree with you. I also grew up in the fifties/sixties, and you have to understand that was over half a century ago. Doctors didn't know nearly as much as they know today. If they had, I wouldn't have osteoporosis for one thing, because back then doctors didn't know to tell women that they needed to take their calcium and vitamin D, and magnesium and zinc waaaay before they reached menopause, but as early as their twenties, in order to protect their bones and avoid osteoporosis AFTER menopause.

There are a great many things that doctors "had wrong" back then, and one of them was the notion that a "good enema" was good for ya, period. It was a common practise to be sure, but far from being a common cure, in many instances, the forced flushing of the bowels was flat out dangerous and actually exacerbated far more serious bowel conditions that required addressing in a totally different way.

That is probably why you are getting some negative feedback for your insistence that what was thought to be good for ya back in the fifties and sixties, is good for ya today. It isn't, and Enemas are most assuredly no longer considered "one of the cures for all ailments", even though, under medical advice, they still have their rightful place.

Nothing wrong with having been a "child of the fifties/sixties" I enjoyed it a whole lot. But that was then, this is now, and thank goodness Medical science and medical knowledge have progressed significantly from that time. It sounds like there is going to be a "little discomfort" coming on. Folk may get some relief. Frankly, who wants to go through this type of rigor? Not I. Generally, an enema does provide some basic therapeutic assistance to one's body. I wish you well. Peace, Love and God Bless. I think that many people have misconceptions about enemas. They think that they will be painful or humiliating, which may have been the case for them. A big part of the pain is seen as the pain of having something inserted into their rectum, not having learned it from a good experience.

A well administered enema is in fact pleasurable.
