Answers: Well, one of the easiest ways to help prevent yeast infections would be cranberries. Also, supplementing with probiotics and Caprylic Acid can help to support a healthy internal ecology, which may help discourage the growth of yeast and possibly bacterial problems.

There are other things that can help to boost the immune system that may help your body fight against "unwanted intruders" growing in your body. There's Colostrum, mushrooms (Reishi, Maitake, and Shiitake), Elderberry, Echinacea (which should not be taken long-term), Garlic, Inositol Hexaphosphate (IP-6), CoQ10, any basic antioxidants, and many other things that are less powerful, but still give some impact. I'm a Product Specialist for a vitamin company Threelac, its amazing - just type it in to google. Oh and don't use antibiotics if you can avoid them, they kill all your good bacteria allowing the yeast to thrive. Probiotics and prebiotics are the only cure, as well as avoiding high sugar, and highly processed foods, cause yeast loves them. You need to feed your body things that the yeast won't have time to break down and feed from like brown - pasta, rice and bread, veg, pulses, grains, and all the healthy stuff that Gillian McKeith goes on about. Help your body fight the yeast. We usually get yeast infections because do something that kills the good bacteria in our bodies, and this allows the yeast to multiply faster. This can happen as a result of taking antibiotics or eating a lot of sugar (sugar is antibacterial, but it is not beneficial for the body.)

Change your diet. Stop eating all foods with sugar and any type of sweetener (even natural sweeteners.) Stop eating bread and other foods with yeast. The yeast in our bodies feed on sugars and other yeasts.

Do not take antibiotics as this will kill the remaining good bacteria that you need.

Do eat plenty of garlic and fermented foods such as sour kraut, kim chee or miso. Get about 1/4 pound of wheat berries (the whole wheat kernel before it is ground into flour) and soak it in water in a 1 qt jar; the next morning, strain the wheat and drink the water. Put the wheat back into the jar and soak it again, then drink the water the following morning. Repeat this one more day. This will add beneficial bacteria back into your intestinal tract. Sugar is the main enabler for yeast infection. Also cortisone will light up any fungal infection. From time to time antibiotics are necessary to survive infections. Before antibiotics, pneumonia was fatal 50% of the time. Blood 'poisoning' cures involved amputation of the infected limb or else you died. So lighten up, everybody, on how antibiotics are 'bad' for you. If you have to take antibiotics for some infection and you get a yeast infection, home remedies as some of the above can help. Nobody is going to die from a yeast infection, unless you are already about terminal. The antifungal meds eg mycostatin, etc can also help. Okay where do you live? If in the south of US, then tight fitting thick clothes like blue jeans with nylon underwear create a perfect environment for yeast which is a fungus. Warm damp places are perfect breeding grounds for yeast. Everyone above has given you great advice on diet changes, use them. My suggestion is cotton underwear and thin lower clothing. If you get sweaty change your clothes. Try to stay as dry as possible. If you are taking antibiotics also use a vaginal cream to kill yeast at the same time ( Monostat). I went as far as to stop wearing underwear. I haven't had a yeast infection in about 14 years. I hope this helps.
