laurel>how many sessions are recommended and at what cost.thanks. Do think about trying hypnosis to stop smoking. I am a hypnotherapist and i have a very high success rate with this. Also It will only take a short course of treatment.
The best thing is that none of my clients have any withdrawal symptoms.
Acupuncture may also help quit the cigs. I do know it helps treat many things.
Click on the link below and find a hypnotherapist in your area.
If you live in North Wales then you may find me, lol.
Good luck ! Source(s):
www.hypnotherapistregister.com Only one thing worked for me - "will-power" :-)
3 months 6 days and still doing OK :-) I've tried hypnotism to stop me smoking and it worked. The first time for over 2 years (stupidly started again following man trouble!!!!) and the second time I have been stopped now for just over a year. I tried acupunture for a bad back and never found it to be much use, never tried it for smoking though. Given the choice I would for hypnotism. For smoking cessation, I would definitely recommend hypnotherapy. Acupuncture is very effective with pain control, skin conditions and other things. However, for habit change and other conditions such as phobias, etc., hypnotherapy it the more successful method.
If you are in the UK, check out www.bsch.org.uk that is the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, to find an accredited therapist, who will explain the procedure clearly, establish your goals and help you make the changes you wish. My cousin tried hypnosis and quit smoking cold turkey. It was a group hypnosis thing and she and her good friend quit cold turkey. It's been 12 years and they haven't smoked since. They highly recommend hypnosis. One suggestion is to insist that someone is in the room (not being hypnotised) with you while you are being hypnotised. My acupressure teacher used a certain point on her dad to help him quit smoking and drinking excessively. Eventually he just couldn't handle it anymore because it always made him so sick. She is an acupuncturist.
Hypnotherapy could work on you. Try reprogramming your mind yourself if you have a limited budget. Tell yourself every day, even several times a day if you need to, that cigarettes taste nasty. It might take a little while, but it will help. Eventually your mind will program itself and you won't like the taste anymore. The mind is highly suggestable and we often get stuck in these patterns because our mind is stuck on this broken record. Give it a new record to play. I had a friend that tried this and it worked for him. It took him about a month.
As silly as this sounds, I had a teacher bet his friend money to quit smoking. Again, it sounds silly, but it worked. Now he thinks "how on earth did I smell like that all the time?!" my moms friend did hypnotism it worked for a few months then all of a sudden he started to smoke again. You will then get fat
