Question:

Can anyone tell me if there is a simple natural cure for sea sickness.?

Answers: Take a ginger root (which can be bought in the vegetable section of most grocery stores), peel it and cut off a few little pieces.

Put the pieces in a thermos and add hot water.

Just sipping on the ginger "tea" all day will quelch any feelings of motion sickness she has.

I do it every time I fly and I no longer get sick.

Great, easy, natural remedy! ginger really helps sea sickness.

even eating ginger snap cookies will do the trick.

Stay up on deck and get fresh air if possible. Yes, there are homeopathic remedies. Very safe and natural.
See this link for a description of one type:
http://www.hylands.com/products/motionsi... My daughter got sick her first time on a deep sea fishing trip with me. The mate on the boat told her to sit nearest to the stern as possible in the middle of the boat and look straight out the back towards the horizon. She felt better soon after and was fine the rest of the day. It worked for her. Good luck.
Also stay busy doing something if you can it will also help. Ginger, Peppermint Oil, and Aloe Vera are the best stomach soothers, especially for motion sickness. a dab of peppermint oil on the back of the hand to sniff, or under the nose if you can stand it. you could look into NAET treatments-natural and non-evasive... I wouln't call it a cure but there is a bracelet that is worn on the wrist that some people say is very effective. It is sold in boating or dive shops and probably is in pharmacies in coastal areas. Ginger is also very helpful. You could get the capsules or get fresh or pickled (the kind you get with sushi). Try to keep your eyes on the horizon and go very light on food and beverages. Saltines are helpful too. Another vote for ginger here.

When I was a junior in high school I boarded with one of the teachers at school while my parents were in Asia.

The teacher was a practical joker of the first order. He sent me off on a deep sea fishing trip one Saturday for some fun. He told me that the way to avoid getting sea sick was to eat plenty of fried chicken...which was provided on the trip.

So I followed his instructions and kept eating them. I thoroughly believed him.

When I got back he asked me if I'd gotten sick. I told him I didn't because I'd followed his instructions. He didn't say anything, probably because he didn't have the heart to tell me that it was supposed to make me barf. LOL

Anyway, it was a real good example of mind over matter because I was truly convinced that the fried chicken was medicine for preventing sea sickness.

The best to you.
