Several questions in one...?

i understand that cinnamon oil is used as antibiotic if this is true, how does it work? do u take it like medicine or use it as an aroma? rub it on like vics vapor rub?

Answers: Actually, Cinnamon does have very good antioxidant properties and Cinnamon Oil has antimicrobial properties (which is why it's used for food preservation... and that's why there's Cinnamon Apples). Because of the antimicrobial properties, it could be used as an antibiotic.... but I would only use it like that if there was no medicine available.
You would want to take it internally if you took it (like a medicine). Using it aromatically, you wouldn't get the same potency of the Cinnamon Oil in your system, just your lungs.... and that wouldn't help much at all unless it was an infection in your lungs.

As much as I hate taking drugs, if you have a viral infection, it is safer to take an antibiotic to guarantee it gets killed, then use natural products to help your body recover from it. Source(s):
I'm a Product Specialist for a vitamin company No oil would take the place of an antibiotic. It could help diffuse anxiety related problems through aroma therapy which should cause a calming effect but still should be followed up by a physician if antibiotics were necessary.
