Answers: The answer, surprisingly, is "yes, sometimes."
I suffer terrible allergies very routinely maybe two or three days a month - ragweed and oak leaf mold according to my doc. On those days I find it necessary to take multiple doses of benadryl to control the sneezing, and even then it only half works.
Let me tell you, at those times I turn into a veritable sex-fiend, and am hardly able to think about anything else. Drowsiness is not a problem if the drug is taken with coffee or no-doze.
I was kinda surprised by this question. I haven't mentioned how benadryl works on me to anyone except my wife, and figured it worked on me this way because I'm a bit of a freak of nature in other ways as well, as far as side-effects from various drugs go.

Personal experience more like an anti-aphrodisiac..makes you sleepy as hell no - it's an antihistamine Only if you are allergic to your lover. it puts you to sleep or makes you tired NOT horny It's actually the same active ingredient that is used in otc sleeping pills. Diphendydramine. Even though it's for allergies, it will also work as a sleeping pill and vice-versa. I don't think so..it makes you sleepy. It is a rough form of antihistamine that affects your central nervous system....giving you some "shakes." Don't take it unless you have an allergic reaction that may develop into anaphylaxis (swelling of the throat, cutting off your airways), and you're close to a bed. Unfortunately, it gives you a "hangover" when you wake. I hope not - I take that to help me sleep....
