Is there a proven way to get rid of hiccups?!

Question:

Is there a proven way to get rid of hiccups?

Answers: yes .......trying to figure out complex puzzles and feeling scared

http://www.winterrowd.com/illusions/... i think you just have to calm down.hiccups are caused by irregular breathing so if you calm down, your breathing will regulate itself!! hope i helped!! The trick is to turn your head to one of your shoulders (jaw is in line with the shoulder), then drink some water.

I have no idea why, but it does work for me!!! drink some water.
LOTS of it.

and i've heard that rubbing some parts of your temples or even your ears helps rid off hiccups very fast. I hold my husbands nose and kiss him and it works everytime! lol Recently, there was a young girl, who had hiccups and tried every imaginable folk remedy and even medical cures. Eventually they went away on their own. There is no bonified way of stopping them. I have helped numerous people get rid of hiccups by having them focus on their breathing. You need to breathe in through your nose, slowly, filling your lungs from the bottom to the top, and then exhale through your mouth, equally slowly. This relaxes the body. Hiccups are a spasm of the diaphragm. Focused breathing, deep cleansing breaths, control the diaphragm and thus release the spasm and get rid of the hiccups.

Works every time for me and anyone I have told about it. What the guy before me said is pretty close to what I was taught the best approaches were.
In order to make hiccups go away, you need to have a relaxed diaphrah that breathes at a smoothe steady rate (and inhales/exhales that last at least 10 seconds each).
Generally once you practice a little bit, getting the previously mentioned things to happen takes less than 5 minutes, and in a way hiccups are useful since they teach you basic breathing control.

There are techniques that shock or suprise the system to get hiccups to go away, but I'm not a fan of them, since they don't fix the underlying stress creating the hiccup, and do not work every time.

Anyhow, just remember, hiccups are essentially tension in the diaphram. Best cure for hiccups=opposite of their cause=relaxation. The steps/conditions I listed just happen to be the simplest set I've seen that fulfill every condition. For me taking a packet of sugar works. I don't know why.
