Inducing a fever?
I seem to remember a documentary in which some villagers used herbs or bark or something to induce temporary fevers they considered healthful. The idea (if I remember correctly) was that people would suffer fewer infectious diseases if their temperatures were artificially elevated this way every once in a while.
Does anybody know of any herbs or such that have this affect?
Answers: For bad colds some people have used a chest compress to bring on sweating to break a fever. That is NOT a good career move.
Too much heat in the body can be lethal to the brain.
