hi, I'm 30 and I have a lot of bright blood in my stools. I went to the doctors and they concluded that I don't have hemorrhoids or fishers and because the blood is light in color I don't have a alsoure. Now I have to go to a specialist. since I don't have insurance, I'm looking for a alternative solutions to try first. any suggestions?
Answers: You need a diagnosis before you start "self treating." If they have ruled out hemorrhoids, you have to be sure it's not something more serious or even fatal. Insurance or not, see the specialist. I've lost 3 family members to colon cancer in the last year. They, too, put off getting a colonoscopy until their cancer had already metastasized. I hope you will make better choices and have a better outcome. Go to the specialist. It is not normal to have blood in your stool; there is something wrong. Blood in stool can mean many things (minor or serious) and only a colonoscopy can find out for sure. Sorry. Most often, it could be diverticulosis which means you have to increase your fiber intake and antibotics are needed.
I suggest that you call your insurance provider to see if they can cover it or some of it. Sometimes, they do make exceptions. found a link that might help. If your regular dr. said to see a specialist, do it. You will find a way to cover the cost, or see if they can make a payment plan you can both work with. just because your doctor did not find anything wrong, dose not mean there is nothing wrong. Blood in your stool is a problem to get check out.
