Is an antioxidant complex good for you?

Ok i weight lift and do aerobics my diet is good i take my vitamins but i find that my immune system is a little lower i kinda feel crummy im not overtrianing i was wondering does taking like a antioxidant supplement make you feel better ive never been big on supplements but i was told to try some has anybody had any difference with these like a antioxidants complex

Answers: it's good if you're so busy you can't find fresh fruits and vegetables to eat, or are under circumstances where finding them would be detrimental to your work life.

However the problem with dried up anti-oxidants is that these compounds are usually DEAD and have fallen apart from the drying and powdering process. Very little of the original anti-oxidants remain, and you're just buying flavored/colored powder.

The best option is to skip this stuff and drink low sodium V8 as a habit, or eat multi-colored salads with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, etc, drink shakes with dark dark dark DARK fruits like blueberries, beets, pomegranates, plums etc. The darker the berry the more the antioxidants. Source(s):
weight-lifting for 6 years, tried every supplement under the sun and studied the effects of these so called "supplements" with my own body. The best antioxidant is water; drink a lot it. The main problem with answering your question is that natural products (herbs, vitamins, and general supplements) work by providing nutrients that your body needs to help the cause of certain problems. If you're feeling "crummy", that could be from lack of nutrients from your food (maybe certain types), lack of nutrients for your immune system, lack of nutrients from brain health, or many other possibilities.

Yes, antioxidants help all sorts of things throughout your whole body by fighting free radicals.... but those free radicals might not be what's causing your "crumminess". However, taking extra antioxidants won't hurt you, they help for a lot of things, and even if they don't help your crumminess, they will help a lot of other things in your body.

Also, even in capsule/tablet forms antioxidants will work just fine because the antioxidant properties aren't just "living aspects" in a fruit (otherwise an orange that's a week old would be useless, as would any orange juice), they are chemical aspects that are put into the pills that DO work very well for a lot of people. Yes, fresh fruits are a better source.... but that's because there are other things in fruits that keep you healthy, not JUST the antioxidants. Antioxidants are good for you because they slow down the aging process a bit by immobilising and destroying some of the free radicals that cause the aging process and also make you more susceptible to getting cancer. The most powerful antioxidants out there are Microhydrin and Mega H. Many antioxidants out there are too weak to show show any results. Hi Mike Z, although antioxidants are great, they fight the free radicals that cause aging and inflammation, I think you to supplement with more than just antioxidants.

The more you work out, the higher demand your body has for nutrition. Trace minerals (that are hard to get from foods) leave the body through sweat.

I would recommend you get on a top quality daily supplement that has antioxidants, take everyday and I'm sure you'll start to feel much better, with more energy.

I won't suggest that any certain product is the best because many are good but I have great success with http://www.Vitamark.com/287998
