Fixing my body and soul from my past abuse?!

Question:

Fixing my body and soul from my past abuse?

So I was stuck in an abusive relationship for 3 years. My ex never let me stay sober, because he couldn't stay sober, he forced me to do meth for the whole time. I only got away because he got locked up. I am now trying to peice my life back together and want to know if there is anything I can do help me pull myself together after Meth abuse. I just want my body/mind/soul back. I have been clean for a year now(all on my own) but now that i am not malnutriced, I have gained weight like crazy, and want to find some healthy ground.....help.....any ideas...........?????? thank you

Answers: I just want to reiterate... Congratulations! Not only for being sober now, but for being clean for a YEAR now without any help... now THAT takes a lot of effort. Good job!!

As far as answering your question, I would recommend looking for your local chapter of Narcotic's Anonymous (http://www.na.org). If there's not one near you, their website can offer assistance in joining one (even online), and might be able to help you start one in your area.
A few of my good friends are involved with NA right now, and one of them was actually on Meth for some time and has been clean for almost 3 years now. She's told me a couple times how much NA has helped her through the hard times, plus she's gotten really involved in the organization because of the help they've given her... and she coincidentally happened to meet her new husband there (but don't expect it to be like a single's club at all..... she's just a really good "success story" for the organization).

They can help you through the good times and the bad times, give you references to help in recovery, and make some of the best friends you'll meet that totally know everything you're going through. Good luck, and Congratulations again! Source(s):
Experiences from close friends going through the same thing I'm no expert on substance abuse, but congrats on getting clean and staying sober. That is a great achievement. Maybe there are some support groups near you that meet weekly or something that could help you with all of that. Our local paper always lists those meetings. You could also look online because there is probably a support group or forum. Good luck!! congrats on being clean and sober. that is the best thing you could do for youself. i don't know anything about substance abuse but i would suggest getting a good support network behind you. you've done a lot hard work on your own and should be very proud of yourself! best of luck in life. Call your local hospital. They can point you in the direction of NA meetings and groups that can help you. My hat is off to you for being clean for so long. Keep up the great work.
