Answers: I'm surprised Kevin Trudeau is being taken seriously by anyone. Even on the altmed forum, there have to be some minimum standards for believability...

From the article below:

"To settle the FTC charges, Kevin Trudeau, who developed and appeared in all the infomercials, including the one for his "Mega Memory System," will pay $500,000 in consumer redress and will be barred from making false claims for the products in the future. Trudeau will be required to establish a $500,000 escrow account or performance bond to assure compliance...
Trudeau, Mega Systems, Salberg, Wright, Callahan, Eller, Berg, and Tru-Vantage will be barred from making the alleged deceptive claims relating to their products in the future. In addition, Trudeau, Salberg, and Mega Systems will be required to have substantiation, which, when appropriate, must be scientific, for claims about the benefits, performance or efficacy of any product or program they advertise; promote; sell; or distribute in the future. They also will be barred from misrepresenting the existence, contents, validity, results, conclusions or interpretations of any test, study or research." Source(s):
http://www.quackwatch.com/02consumerprot... I've never read the book. However, if your familiar with the verbage "too good to be true" then it probably is. If you eat 5-6 small meals a day it will exponentually increase your metabolism and of course healthy meals combined with vigorous exercise three times a week you will see dramatic results. A good key note to remember; for however long it took to gain the weight expect thte same amount of time for the loss. Good luck on your journey and I hope this helped. I maintain that THE BEST diet for anyone is to just eat less. Obviously there are certain things that are far more healthy than others, but if someone is eating normal, well-rounded meals and not snacking to often, but still overweight they should try just cutting their intake by 1/3 and of course exercising.

That will work for most people, if it doesn't it probably means they have an underlying condition whether it be genetics or thyroid or something that is causing them to retain too much fat.

In any event, to answer your question: The hypothalamus is responsible for your feelings of hunger or not hunger. There is really very little physical basis for hunger, although it might seem that way. Tests indicate an animal with a hypothalamus that is damaged in such a way that it always tells the body it is hungry will cause that animal to literally eat itself to death. Controlling the hypothalamus could be considered a way to control weight, however science doesn't know EXACTLY how the hypothalamus works, so messing with it is a bad idea considering it also controls your body temperature, sexual desires, circadian cycles, and a dozen other important things.
