Vicks Vapour Rub Works On Stretch Marks?

Aka, have you has personal succes with it?

Answers: Sorry, vick's will not work on stretch marks. Stretch marks are caused by the break down of colligen in the skin. This happened when the colligen "fibers" are stretched such as during pregnancy, or general weight gain. Everybodies skin is different ie we all have different levels of colligen in our skin, some people have very stretchy skin others do not. That's why some women come out of pregnancy with no stretch marks, they have a higher collegen level. They will fade in time, but not much that can be done at this point unless you see a cosmetic surgeon, and I'm not positive they could do anything about it either. Not the answer you were looking for, but at least it will save you some money in the long run! Source(s):
I am an RN & Herbalist NO. Preparation H would do better than that. It shrinks. Vicks only makes you smell funny. Nope! But you can try rubbing African Iris flower root. i have some vicks rub so i will try it because i have some stretch marks ill tell you if it helps Vicks? didnt work for me :( Never heard of that before. Try Palmers Cocoa Butter. Dr Gott that has the column in the newspaper always recommends Vicks vapour Rub on fungus...like toe nail fungus, etc. i have never heard using it on stretch marks. usually they advertise cocco butter for that. No, stretch marks is deal with toxin/ fat that lies under skin, while vicks is contain methol which is good only for respiratory problems. Oh boy!

I use Vicks for respiratory problems. It works wonders especially when my upper respiratory tract is all stuffed up.

Some people have more stretch marks than others (because of the difference in their skin structure). The ugly looking colour in the markings fade off after a while. It is not obvious then. That's what happened with mine.

Enjoy the blessings of having the baby and don't pay too much attention on the stretch marks.

"You gain some, and lose some." Two capsules of Vit E in 1 oz olive oil. Keep refrigerated. Use as a lotion. Use for prevention as well.
