Does fiber prevent absorption of supplements?!

Question: I take a fiber powder supplement dissolved in water daily (100% pure psyllium fiber from GNC) because I was told to keep my bowels moving by my naturopath. I also take other natural supplements. I would ask the Naturopath but she's not available for a couple of weeks so I am asking you guys....does taking the psyllium solution prevent my natural herbs and supplements from being absorbed? If so, is there a way for me to prevent this? Thanks for your time.

Yes it does. I always take them separate,1/2hour before meals. and take vitamins 2-3 hours later.
Generally, when it is mixed with water or other fluids, psyllium forms a sticky gel that could block the absorption of any drugs, herbals, or foods that are taken at the same time. If psyllium is taken, drugs and meals should be taken more than one hour before or 4 hours after taking psyllium.

no! fiber helps clean out your bowls and promotes regular bowel movements but it does not affect the absorption of other nutrients into your body! So your getting all the nutrients you need. Most of the nutrients is absorbed in the small bowel, large bowel is for water retention.
