Taking extra vitamin C definitely boosts your immune system. You will get fewer colds and when you do they will be less severe.

Although you can easily get at least 50 mg of vitamin C from a normal diet, taking extra vitamin C is much better. 500 mg a day would be a useful amount. More vitamin C also helps to absorb more iron.

Garlic is another immune system booster.
So I've heard
I don't take it but my mom does. She never gets sick...except when she runs out and doesn't take it. If she misses more than five days..she winds up catching something from someone. I think it works. I don't take vitamins...I choose to just eat the right good foods.

Other ways to prevent illness besides the ones you've heard millions of times like washing your hands.....
Eat good healthy foods...stay away from the bad ones like snacks and junk foods/fast food.....
Naturally way of getting enough vitamin C is to eat enough fruits...real fresh fruits....or drink juice...to be called juice the only ingredients on the bottle are juice and water...that's it...if it has more then it's leaning more toward koolaid than juice. Try the freezer section to find real juice...the ones in cans are almost always just juice.
De-stress....stress lowers your body's immune system. If you can't help to stress then do your best.
