Answers: is it safe to get a full body massage while taking clorithromycin or any other antibiotics?

If you are taking antibiotics to fight off an infection, you should wait until you finish the course. A massage can alter the balance of chemicals in your body and change the way medications work. Also a full body massage is like a workout for your lymphatic system as well as your muscles. it will tire your body out to a degree and this may be too much stress for you while trying to recover from an infection.

If you are taking these to prevent an infection, like after dental work or some very minor local surgery, and are not having any problems recovering you should be alright to recieve a massage.

In the wildest of worst case scenarios a massage could spread an infection from being local to becomming a life threatening systemic infection. Ex your badly infected big toe could experience an increase in circulation from the massage and the bacteria could travel into your blood stream. This is a small chance, but obviously not a risk worth taking just to get a massage.

Talk to your massage therapist and explain why you are taking the medication. If it is a temporary thing the therapist might ask you to wait for your appointment, but a course of antibiotics usually isnt too long to wait for a great massage.

Sure. I don't see how a massage could cause a problem with antibiotics or visa versa.
