Has anyone tried vitex? (herbal supplement)?!

Question: If so-
What was the usage for?
How much did you take?
Was it helpful?

I've heard that in addition to correcting minor hormone imbalances (a bit moody sometimes here ;) it can increase odds of concieving twins...anyone use it for this purpose or know of anyone who has?

You little cutie, you're way too young to be worried about something like that right now.:)

Vitex is also known as Chasteberry, and it's effective for PMS and whatnot because it has a progesterone-like activity. There are a LOT of people that get benefits from it, but no natural supplement can claim to increase the odds of having twins, unfortunately.

If the Vitex doesn't give you enough of an effect, there are several other natural products that help with women's hormones and/or "monthly issues". There's Black Cohosh, Dong Quai, and Omega-6 fatty acids like those in Borage Oil or Evening Primrose Oil.

There are also some phytoestrogens (plant hormones) that may effect your hormones, but a nutritionist or holistic doctor would be the best to ask what would be the best type (as different people have different responses to different supplements).
