Danger of glucosamine chrondroitan?!

Question: I saw an ad from some naturopathic doctor that warned about what he wrote were the "dangers" from taking glucosamine chrondroitan.

I have not been able to find anything on such dangers in a net search. Anyone know?

There is some concern that glucosomine could cause you to have a higher risk of diabetes.

I think this is what you are referring to.

Ive been takeing it for about 5 years now (Im 27 and have horrible artheritis in my back due to a car accident) it has done nothing but help me. However, as with any suppliment or medication there are always risks involved. I have not read any negative info on it, but Im sure there is some out there.

I think the "doctor" was just blowing smoke or promoting his own product. The only problem with Glucosamine or Chondroitin is if you have an allergy to either product.

Glucosamine typically comes from the shells of shellfish, so you shouldn't take it if you are allergic to shellfish. Chondroitin is an organic source of Sulfur, so if you're allergic to Sulfur, you shouldn't take it. Aside from that, both are perfectly safe and there are thousands of our customers (not to mention the tens or hundreds of thousands of other people in the world) that take either or both of these products and are happy with them.

However, if you are worried about them after reading the doctor's "proof", then you could also try Microlactin (milk source), Hyaluronic Acid, Tart Cherry Extract, Litozin (Danish Rose Hips), MSM (organic Sulfur), and Avovida (a combination of avocado and soy). Most of them are very economical and are very beneficial... our customers order them on a very regular basis. Most people get benefit from one or more of these ingredients within anywhere from a week to a couple months, depending on how long it takes for the supplement to get into their joints.
