Pill Phobia?!
Question: I have a problem swallowing pills. I was prescribed cefuroxime 500. Is it ok to remove the powder and put it in honey or juice and eat/drink it that way?

Ask your doctor first before just taking the powder. Some meds you can't do that with, some you can. In the mean time, try putting the entire pill in something like applesauce, pudding, ice cream etc. and try taking it that way.
remove the powder and take it with milk..if u dont like the bitter taste hold your breath while swallowing it.
Funny thing is My child had this phobia also... we cut a quarter size piece of bread and emptied the powder into it folded it and pinch sealed dipped in honey and down the hatch. She tried not to chew as much as she could.
Then I came up with and idea to cure her phobia, she definiatly thought she was going to die if a pill got stuck. So I had her practise so she could be a pro pill swallower......Mini marshmellow.. It was great training for her throat and mind try it you will not choke and it wont hurt and you will learn to relax while swallowing a pill.
