Without going to 'wiki' or looking it up, what's your impression of "phytochemical" & "chemoprevention"?!

Question: What pops into your mind when you hear these terms? THANKS

A phytochemical is simply a chemical which comes from plants. Think of phytoplankton. They are small animal-like organisms that synthesize chlorophyll. Chemoprevention is a new term to me. Let's break it down: "chemo" means chemical; prevention means to forestall or to stop from occurring. Sounds therefore like it would mean "a chemical which either stops a process from occurring or interrupts it in some way, rather the opposite of a catalyst.

i read phyto as photo for some reason...so i was thinking something to do with light, but that's likely wrong.... for the second, i would think a chemically blocked process of some sort.

I don't know, couldn't find it on wiki.

phytochemical? phyto is from plants and is very, very good

chemoprevention would mean to prevent chemo therapy I would suppose
