Does anyone know any natural treatments for deppression and anxiety?!

Question: I know that excercise helps alot. I have tried conventional medicines on and off for years and I'm very sensitive to the side effects. I suffer with the side effects and there is no real change I just become numb and zombie like. I have had weight gain, sexual disfunction, seizures and a host of other problems when I have tried conventional medicine. I have also tried talk therapy but that only goes so far if it's not situational deppresstion.

I've been living with depression for many years. There is no single thing that "fixes" it. The best way I've found to manage it is to use several treatments together:
exercise
diet (avoid excessive sugar, alcohol and white flour)
light
practice gratitude - read a devotion or daily meditation
spiritual practice
social time
talk therapy as needed

All these things work together to help keep you balanced. When something is out of balance, the depression symptoms may return. good luck.

get a pet

try singing. but dont do it like its a chore, you wanna try to get into the song and try to feel passionate about it. i know it sounds hard but almost fake it at first. this reeeaaallly works.
also, sometime just try going through a day pretending that your not depressed, not just on the outside but on the inside. try to convince yourself that your not depressed.

Have you tried St Johns Wort? My friend found this excellent.

try chiopractic when disc of the back are compress it stops the nerves from sending proper signals to the brain and that set of nerves or nerve overloads and goes hay wire either way making your aniexty worse or makes the nerve over load threfor shutting down or sending signals like morse code .--...---..= know what i mean and even after adjustment if no relief is found get a emg of the upper and lower body for nerve damage,do you have diabetes?
If so you could be suffering nerve damage does your arms and hand go numb or have sharp pains shooting in them des your arms go weak or your legs if so get the emg and get checked for diabetes if you never have . good luck

My friend swears by light therapy. She got a light box and she sits by it every day.

Me, I deal with them through meditation. About 15-20 mins/day helps.

Also look into food allergies; you could be consuming a lot of stuff that affects your mood, especially if you're sensitive.

It takes more work to deal with depression/anxiety if you don't want to do Western meds, but you should be able to get some mileage out of those suggestions.

Good luck!

St. John's Wort works for some for depression. Valerian Root is known for working for anxiety.

Two things that I know from experience work.
1) Valerian tincture. Make sure it is not synthetic.
2) Find the root cause. It could be physical, psychological, or a combination.
If it is not clearly physical, and you don't want to become a member of some group until you know if it is worth your time, try http://www.sgi-usa.org

You should try chammomile and dandelion tea. Comphrey if used sparingly, Valieran root.

St John's Wort is supposed to be good for depression and anxiety and stress.

I tried all sorts of antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds, but ended up with symptoms just like yours. I finally tried St. John's wort. It took 10 weeks, but it really did work, and I've been depression-free for years. There are some drug interactions, so make sure you look these up before trying. Passion flower helped ease my anxiety without making me feel "foggy" or tired. They can be used together.

Hi!,

Depression is a behavioral disorder that is brought about by the interacrion of several stressors between environment and the body. The bichemical and physiological imbalance that occurs within the individual can be addressed by changing the environment (work space, pollution, toxins, etc.) and altering the nutrition to correct the imbalance.

Prescription meds may help temporarily but proven to cause tresholds, rebounds and other harmful/harsh effects to the body.

If you are open to natural approach, I recommend you to try goji berry juice. It's 100% all natural, no over dose, no side effects, no drug interaction, cross reactions, and taste good too! It's not herbal (like roots, leaves, seeds, rind, etc.) but a juice (like apple or orange juice). We recommend this to our patients and show consistent results with 2-3 ounces three times daily. The link below is the original and authentic source of goji berry juice - the first company to introduce the juice to the world. Below are some helpful links for your reference.

Hope this could help you. Good Luck!

This is just word of mouth, but I know some people who have had great results in getting off their anti-depressants after starting a vitamin regiment. I take ViSalus Sciences ViPak and have had great results with everything else health related including being more alert through my day.
