baking soda with water -- don't use a lot, because it can raise your blood pressure . . . but, the baking soda is alkaline -- it neutralizes acids.

try some milk or apple juice

Like B8K3P said....1 teaspoon baking soda in an 8 ounce glass of water. That should work. Then lay on your left side. Your stomach goes big on the left side, so everything will move to that end when you lay on your left side. It should keep the acid from going into your esophagus and causing the pain. If you don't have baking soda, drink some milk. It won't be as effective, but it may help. ~~

try mixing baking soda with water just one teaspoon mixed with cold water, drink it down. you will belch alot but it works.

a table spoon of apple cider vinegar

Actually drinking a glass of water will dilute the stomach acid.

maybe if you put some of that baking soda in a glass of seltzer you would have something equivelent to alka seltzer.

Chewing gum will stimulate the salivary glands which produce saliva and saliva will reduce acidity by up to 50%.

The juice from eating either apples or carrots, contain malic and tartaric acid which can help neutralize stomach acids. (much like antacids do)

go to the health food store and purchase papaya mints...I love them! chew 3-4 at time after you eat for they will help digest your foods.

Dr. Kevin T., the guy with the famous book, Cures The Doctors Don't Want You to Know About." States that you might try a tablespoon of vinegar while you are having the burn attack...

Also if you know someone that can pull your stomach down, like a massage therapist trained as myself...that would help as well.

get a regular medical check up to make sure that you aren't a having any other problems...other than acid reflux problem...and watch your spicy and hot liguid foods for they tend to aggravate the condition...eating too late at night is also not a good idea either, for your stomach sleeps at night and thus alot of your heart burn might even be...gas from the putrifiying foods just a sitting in your stomach waiting until you awaken...

Those are my thoughts...
Hope this helps you

Good luck!

My mother would mix vinager, baking soda and water until it made a froth and would quickly drink it down. Never failed.

Apple cider vinegar is the best remedy. 1 table spoon, or you can add it to a glass of water. When I don't have any apple cider vinegar I eat a piece of bread and that helps me.

Perhaps the pain can be stemmed from an emotional issue related to your heart. Sit with this for a while and be honest with yourself. Perhaps there are issues that you are not facing and are manifesting in your body as a result of not being dealt with. The truth will set you free.
take care

Baking soda is a good temporary help, but because of the sodium in baking soda, doctors don't recommend using it frequently

go see a naturopath...they helped me with this...everyone is different.

Take a look at this site. Very good !

Raw celery!! Seriously, it works great. It is very alkaline and gentle - also works for really hot spicy food- that's why it is served with hot chicken wings, etc. Go!
