What is Homeopathy?!

Question: Those first two were the nay-sayers that believe anything that goes against their way of thinking is useless.

Homeopathy IS the form of Alternative medicine that literally means "like cures like". It actually works very similarly to inoculations... it puts a small amount of a drug or toxin (which is the "watered down" part they mentioned) in your body that stimulates your body's natural healing response, and that helps it to learn how to fight the larger problem.
If you look it up in the dictionary or Wikipedia, you'll see the full description that follows what I told you.

I still can't figure out why there are people who say homeopathy does nothing, but they get immunizations and inoculations with full belief..... huh......

Their idea is...the less there is of something, the better it works.

so if one tenth of an ounce of a root makes you better, one MILLIONTH of it will make you even MORE better.

bottom line...pure horse crap

It is a quack treatment based on the erroneous pseudo-science of thinking that a substance diluted becomes more effective, and that 'like cures like'.
Homoeopathic medicine is water. :Laboratory pure water! It has no active content!

The whole thing has been debunked over and over again for more than a hundred years, but it still has suckers prepared to pay for it, so alas it is big business!

Credophiles, like the people answering bellow, can not escape the fact that every, that is EVERY single double-blind test of homoeopathy has failed dismally. It just does not work, full stop!

Homeopathy is a vitalist therapy, claiming to act by treating imbalances in a hypothetical vital force. Substances, which in large quantities would cause symptoms similar to the disease, are administered in heavily diluted formulations, with shaking at each stage of the dilution. This process of serial dilution, called potentization, is claimed to remove any negative side-effects of the treatment, but to retain some therapeutic powers. Although at many of the higher dilutions no molecules of the original substance are likely to remain, homeopaths contend that the shaking causes some memory of the diluted substance to remain, and that this imprint has medical effects on the body.

Use Google or wikipedia, for such a broad but non-specific question, you will get on better.
