Fish oil and depression?!


Question: I couldn't take the side effects of cymbalta....
Have any of you had fish oil help?
if so...how long did it take?
and how much did you take (I hate to be a pain, but if you take a look at the small print on the side of the bottle, you'll see an amount of EPA - how much do you take of that? that way we can take the same amounts, even if its a different brand)

I once read a book and learned that studies (often backed up by seeing changes on the brain pet scans) helped so many mental illnesses. Some of them were depression, manic depression, schizophrenia,. agoraphobia, anxiety,. dyslexia and others.

The dose was generally at least 2000-3000 mg preferably 3000..I think some took 5000- 10000 mg (like the schizophrenic whose not only all symptoms went away but the area of the brain that showed on the pet scan when he was connected to the machine and told to click a button every-time he had a hallucination showed changes to look like a normal brain after treatment with high doses of fish oil,,,,,

You take a mix of the two type (epa and the other)..other sources of omega three fatty acids are flax seed oils and walnuts. They say fish is brain food.

would recommend taking it with cayenne as cayenne is a catalyst herb and makes everything you take work better in part due to increasing the circulation and getting the herb where you want it.

they did studies with gionkgo biloba and it was about 47% effective but when cayenne was added with it, it jumped to 98% effectiveness.

Also Dr. Richard Schulze (www.herbdoc.com) in his save your life manual of a man with severe depression that nothing helped coming back to health with no depression through considerable time doing colon cleansing.

I suggest you take his intestinal formula #1 and #2...colon cleansing helps many diseases one would not necessarily connect with a filthy or poorly functioning colon. this will also improve your general health. He had several pages in the manual detailing the case history of this depressed man who recovered after thorough colon cleansing.

Find a mercury free and additive free fish oil. I believe Earthlinks Nutrition on Ebay or at www.coralcalciumultimate.com has a good one. Animal based Omega 3 & 6 is good for depression as well as a diet change. These alone can be more effective than any harmful drug. Eliminate foods with artificial additives. Look for organic and all-natural foods for best results. Ginkgo biloba is also helpful and promotes proper brain function.

The best thing to do for depression is to find out what causes it. Go for some Therapy sessions and let them help you to identify the problem and get rid of it. In addition eliminate all alcoholic beverages and go out and excise. Some type of meditation would be good as well. You will be on your road to recovery.
