What nutritional supplements have you tried that helped with depression?!

Question: Cant take the meds - they dont help the depression, and they make me more miserable with the side effects.

St John Wart didn't help at all -and it made me sunburn like mad...

Looking for any other suggestions.
Started Fish Oil earlier this week.
Want to make sure I have all my bases covered.

Thanks for ANY suggestions.

About 3 months ago, I started taking an omega supplement when i visited with my psychiatrist he approved of that supplement. He also informed me omega supplements when combined with Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) has been shown to have a mood stabilizing effect on some people. I have been using both of them since and definitely agree. EPO also has other great health effects.
The B vitamins, especially folic acid and vitamin B6, help support the clearing of the stress hormones by the liver which is also helpful in depression.
Therapy to go along side your therapy is also crucial...there is no cure for depression it takes time and a lot of changes in your life.
Good luck.

I have tried this nutritional supplement nutrivex and biozyte and they have ingredient's that help with stress I find myself more calm and even in a better mood the capsules are instant release and also It has cleared up my skin ..

I LIKE TO TAKE ALL B-VITAMINS AND A HERB CALLED PASSIONFLOWER, THE STRONGER ONE TO TAKE IS CALLED LOBELIA. GOOD LUCK

I have been drinking a new nutritional juice called
"Himalayan Goji Juice" I have noticed a big difference in my mood since I started drinking "Himalayian Goji Juice" I am able to handle stress a lot better. I am not as jumpy, or depressed as before I started drinking the juice. My mind is clearer. It is very high in antioxidents almost the highest that there is, maybe that is why it is helping my depression. I suggest you try it and give it a chance to get into your system and see if it works for you like it did for me. I am not saying it will, all I am saying that it definatly has help me with anxiety and depression

It is pretty obvious that not a special nutritional supplement helps but nutrition in general. The proof are the many people with overweight and the playing with all kind of diets is just a game which doesn't help but it keeps them busy and they stay at the same level. Look around: Never we have seen so many fat people! When I visited the US I was stunned to see so many enormous fat asses in the street! But eating in abundance helps, every time one feels somehow uncomfortable, one can eat: hamburger, macdonals and all what is offered by our caretaker the money makers. Then depressions can't show up and in case they do, then we just need to eat more. It works: I have 225 pounds and never have any depressions! I don't need any supplements! My friends call me 'zombie' because I don't care about anything, but tell me a better way to deal with all the mess around!
I accept things like they are. I don't want to be them differently. Anyway I can't change them, so why worry about something I can't change? I don't have any expectation how things or people should be. So I can't be disappointed, I have no stress. If because of this I'm a zombie, so then that's ok with me.
You want me to take fish oil? Brrrrrrr, no thanks. Give me a beer and a hamburger, that's all what I need. Thank you!
