Lifestyle changes may help control high blood pressure:

Lose weight if you are overweight. Excess weight adds to strain on the heart. In some cases, weight loss may be the only treatment needed. Exercise to help your heart. Adjust your diet as needed. Decrease fat and sodium -- salt, MSG, and baking soda all contain sodium. Increase fruits, vegetables, and fiber.

Take Care and God Bless !

This may sound funny but in Mexico I understand that if you make a tea using 1/4 teaspoon of bird seeds without the small colored balls and one dried prune in one cup of boiling water that is boiling for about 5 Min's. Strain and drink first thing in the morning when your blood pressure is up the day before is a good remedy. Just use it only once in a while because it could bring your pressure down too low if used everyday. Not to exceed 1 month .

oats,

first of all you should make sure you follow a healthy diet, e.g loads of low fat food, fresh fruit and veg and high fibre and cut out salt. avoid smoking & alcohol and make sure you do some excercise (although if you suffer from high blood pressure you should check with your gp before excercising). garlic is very good for lowering blood pressure, as is cod liver oil and soya lecithin which you can get from holland & barrett in either tablet form or as granules which you sprinkle on food

Passion fruit juice. I have a friend who lived in Peru for two years and she said she kept passing out. She went to the Doctor and the first thing he asked is if she has been drinking passion fruit juice. She said she has a class every morning at breakfast. He said that was why she was passing out. Took her blood pressure and it was LOW, LOW, LOW. She told her to regulate her intake of the fruit. I don't know how much you should be drinking and I'm pretty sure it is not the sugar infused drinks we get in the states. Be careful and watch your pressure to see how it is effecting you.

There are three, non-pharmacological activities that help reduce blood pressure.Being no more than your ideal weight, lowering your salt intake and taking regular vigorous exercise. Though this may avoid therapy in borderline cases, I have never seen it have enough effect to remove the need for medication entirely in a patient with established hypertension.

It is potentially dangerous to try and manage significant blood pressure with alternative remedies, since they have been shown to be worthless and thus leave the patient at risk of heart attack and stroke!

perhaps this article can help:

A web search for "high blood pressure" + "natural remedies" (OR foods) should provide some answers.

Hawthorne Berry tea, or capsules, regulates blood pressure, Dr. told me I had high blood pressure so I began Hawthorne berry tea and Dr. said my blood pressure was good, no problem, so I stopped it, and again he said "too high" and on and off this kept repeating so my conclusion, stay on it, stay regulated. Costs about $8.00 at Wall-mart, cvs, rite-aid, Gnc, or other. Less than that if you buy tea bags. You can even buy it cheaper in bulge, just boil water, turn off heat, and throw in the loose berry's and steep for two to three minutes, and strain, sweeten to taste and enjoy, tastes (GreeeeeeeeaaT!).

fruits veggies and no junk foods drink plenty of water and plenty of exercise will help to keep you fit and lower the pressure swimming walking, any sport that you enjoy take care and DE stress try not to worry and have calmer moments and chill out times

As far as alternative medicines, garlic may help lower blood cholesterol to support heart health. Are your cholesterol levels within normal range ?? For high blood pressure, any alternative medicines are not FDA ( Federal Drug Administration) approved and, there really isn't any herbal medicine for high blood pressure.
Diet, exercise and, a healthy weight are key to maintaining a normal blood pressure.
Age and family history are risk factors .
High blood pressure causes your heart to work harder. As a result, both your heart and arteries are more prone to illness.
Remmendations:
Reduce your salt intake, read product labels for salt and fat content. Salt consumption should not exceed 2300mg/day, fat should be limited to no more thatn 30% of total daily calories. Saturated fat should be limited to 7 %.. No fast foods.
Focus on fruits: choose fresh, frozen, canned, or dried fruit
Vegetables: Eat more dark green veggies, orange veggies, eat more dried beans and peas. Canned veggies are usually high in sodium
Grains: eat at least 3 ozs. of whole grain bread, cereal, crackers, rice or pasta every day. Look for " whole " before the grain name on the list of ingredients.
Meats & Beans: lean protein, eat fish at least twice/wk. Lean meats ( remove any fat from meat prior to cooking). Poultry is a good source of protein, prior to eating, remove the skin. Bake, broil or grill meats, no breading or frying.
Milk: go low fat or fat free, cheese is high in fat and cholesterol but, there are some cheeses that a made with part skim milk.
Oils: use olive oil or canola for cooking instead of vegetable oil. Substituting with corn, sunflower or safflower oils may also help protect your heart. Avoid palm or coconut oil. Use soft margarine, no butter. Avoid orlimit solid fats, stick margarine, shortening and lard.
Fiber: oatmeal, dried beans and peas.
Limit alcohol intake, if you smoke this can also contribute to high blood pressure
Increase your physical activity. Before taking on any exercise program, be sure that your Doc gives you the OK first. If your are overweight, maybe your Doc can refer you to a Nutritionist. I hope that this helps. Ruth

Obviously diet and exercise must top the list...
I saw a product on breakfast TV a while ago that you listen to and it teaches you to breathe properly?

I have also heard hypnosis can help some people...
Good luck
