Quick remedy for raspy throat?!

Question: My best friend is supposed to sing at another friends wedding on Saturday but woke up yesterday with a raspy voice. Overall she feels fine, but it's not looking good for her singing voice. :) Any good remedies out there?

Thanks!

its called a "hot totty". you take some hot tea, put some honey and then a shot or two of whiskey in it and it is the cure all end all. it works for hangovers and the flu and stuff too......its pretty much the greatest invention since the internet

She needs to drink hot drinks for a while. Although cold drinks feel better on a sore throat, hot drinks "melt away" bacteria and mucous that make the throat sore. Also, peppermint oil in hot tea works great too and is a "natural" remedy.

Hope she feels up to singing soon!

Gargle with warm salt water 3-4 times a day. Add 2 tsps. salt to 8-10 oz. of warm water. Do the whole glass each time and gargle for about 30 seconds per mouthful. What caused the raspy voice? If the person is not a smoker then perhaps their sinuses are draining down the back of their throat while asleep. If so an Over The Counter (OTC) antihistamine could help solve the problem. Your localchain pharmacy will have a whole section of cold/sinus/allergy meds. I use Benadryl with good results. May cause drowsiness so try the first dose at night. Other folks have good luck with Claritin. Cough drops will also help and can try a spray like Chloraseptic that will numb the throat. Best of luck.

Vitamin B12 pills! works great for jus about anything.. I always take even when i think im about to get sick.. I jus took em for a sore throat an it went right away

Raw honey with apple cider vinegar- mix a teaspoon into an ounce (one shot) of the vinegar and gargle with it twice daily. Look for apple cider vinegar that says it has the "mother" in it... it's raw, unprocessed, the way the honey has to be to work.
