Wow. Please don't fool around with even otc drugs. Some have actually drank cough medicine such as robutussin which not only can be physically addictive but produce dangerous hallucinations. I only mention this due to a person getting extremely sick and essentially a self-induced psychosis. It can be fatal as well.
Please also steer clear of inhalants ('huffing' fumes) as a friend has a traumatic brain injury (tbi) and other permanent damage including to the bone marrow (fatty inner lining of bones that cushions joints and makes blood cells) damage from huffing at age 12, now in her 30's. Hearing loss as well as other organ damage can occur. Please do Not use any type of drugs though and instead talk with your doctor about feeling as though you would like to somehow self-medicate.
