Yes. You can use aromatherapy in an air-conditioned room. Pure esential oils used in aromatherapy are effective because they are absorbed through the skin into the blood stream. Not so much because of the way they smell. If you are not using Pure essential oils, then you could cause a lot of other problems regardless of whether the ac is on or not. If it's not 100% Pure, it could be blended with some other oil that you are not aware of or it could contain sythetic materials which are a lot more likely to cause allergic reactions!

Some precautions to keep in mind:
1. Never use 100% pure essential oil directly on the skin. They must be mixed with a carrier oil. I like pure organic joojoba oil.
2. Make sure you choose your blends carefully. For example, Rosemary raises blood pressure, so you wouldn't use that on someone with high blood pressure. And Marjoram lowers blood pressure, so you would use that on someone with low blood pressure. And you wouldn't want to mix the two because then neither would be effective.

Definitely check out these websites, especially if you are interested in purchasing oils already blended and ready to use safely. You can also purchase just the oils and blend them yourself. But there is a ton of information on both sites, so check them out!

such small particles can float a great distance even without a fan. So when you have the AC blowing more air into the room, most of the aromatherapy stuff is gonna end up at the end of the stream of wind the ac, and it would be less balanced. And if your aromatherapy is one of the health risk ones, then it would probably do damage if theyre sitting at the end of the wind stream with all the aromatherapy floating to them, but most likely not kill someone. I think it all depends on if you have ones that cause health affects but either way i dont think any are THAT toxic to kill someone, after all you said it was a rumor.

i heard that so
go ask it

No. The Ac cools the room and is blown in. The herbs burnt or released into your room are mostly trapped in your room. If the door and windows are closed. Now what you burn might kill you in an enclosed room. I wouldnt suggest anything like hemlock or Datura or things that are poisonous. Burn the things that are commanly used in incense. You can burn safe aromics all night and candles and you will be fine. You may get a cough if you do it every night . I suggest you only do that sometimes, and get freash air as much as possible.
