Are vitamins pills regulated by the US government?!

Question: Elsie had it the closest.... the FDA neither approves or denies supplements unless they are dangerous or harmful.
The reason the listing of "the FDA doesn't approve of the statements made by this product" is simply for that very reason... they don't agree or disagree with it, nor will they acknowledge the statements unless they make specific medical claims. It's the same reason that the FDA doesn't approve of any statements made about foods.

However, all vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other supplements ARE regulated by the government in the fact that they must meet certain quality requirements. That is why no vitamins from China have been recalled, but some food products have... vitamins have quality restrictions during manufacturing and acceptance into the US that are similar to the requirements for drugs, but general food products don't have those same requirements.

No

No, if you look on the label of most vitimins and supplements, it says that the FDA does not approve most statements made about what the particular vitamin is supposed to do for you. They are regulated to the extent that if it can be dangerous for you, like ephedra, it will be taken off the market.

No they are not because the government does not want to market it. They make more money off the doctor/prescription medicine they would with herbs, so they do not want to regulate it. It is a money scheme. If it helps you, the FDA does not want you to take it. It is that simple. In the Bible it says "do unto the phsyician" and it also says and I quote

"And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."
Herbs were created for the use of man.
And the Fruit thereof shall be meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

So maybe the FDA does not approve it, but GOD does.

No, but you can find supplements that follow Standards of Excellence in Manufacture which in laymans terms means....

Every product in our line is guaranteed to be nutritionally complete, balanced, bioavailable, and efficacious. Each product offers guaranteed potency: this means guaranteed quality, certified to meet specifications of potency, uniformity and disintegration where applicable.
