Question: How do u meditate? If im trying to find an answer to something in my life, would meditation be a good way to figure it out? How would I do that? Thanks!

Meditation is a way of clearing and focusing your mind. Yes it will help you find answers if the answer is within yourself. How you meditate is entirely up to you. Some concentrate on their beliefs, other focus on a flame, some prefer darkness with soft music. It all depends on how you can focus your mind.

you need to get in a very quiet place and clear your mind don't think about anything the answer will come to you

Find somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed

Focus your mind on a word or an object and go with the flow. Meditation will come to you.

Drink water be still in a quiet room close your eyes with your eyes upwards in your head and go into deep thought

Site in a chair, relax, try to empty your mind. Think about thinking of nothing. Let your thoughts wander, but not out of control. Breathe slowly, deep. Concentrate on your navel area.

Cannot say whether it will help find your answer, that depends on what your question is.

There are a lot of ways to meditate. I like a book called "How to Meditate" by Lawrence LeShan. It is very short and easy to read.

One way (which I use) is to sit quietly and clear your mind. Each time you have a thought, clear your mind again. Set a timer if you can and start out for three to five minutes at a time--you may not feel like you are meditating when you are doing it.

Just clear your thoughts whenever you get a thought, and keep doing that until the buzzer sounds. Work slowly up to 20 or 30 minutes or more. Even with just 3-5 minutes, you will begin to notice a difference.

The idea is to have clear thoughts for as long as possible, and don't worry about how long your mind is clear. It's only a few seconds at a time for most beginners, and even advanced meditators have drifitng thoughts.

The advantage is in the process of continually clearing your mind.
