Well, I'm for the legalization of marijuana insomuchas it's safer than cigarettes and alcohol which are both legal and I definitely agree with the legalization of medical marijuana.
Decriminalization. Not legalization. Its better that we can be allowed to grow small amounts, for personal use, not for sale, and allow registered doctors to use it for patients.
I'm against it. I used to get high all of the time when I was in my teens. I'm only 21 now but I think for medicinal purposes marijuana would be okay, but to legalize it alltogether I don't think it's right because a lot of people would abuse the privledge. Marijuana impairs your ability to think, manuever, and other things so..it just it would really scare me to know that tons of people are driving while high and could cause death to an innocent person. I know people drive high everyday, but to really know that it was legal to use marijuana would just cause chaos.
You will have a toned down legal version of marijuana that is no longer as efficacious and it will be taxed. They will also have a legal smoking age just like a legal drinking age, even though alcohol is far more damaging than marijuana on the brain and body.
Whether its legal or not is not going to change the amount of teenagers smoking it behind closed doors, I mean look at alcohol and the Ecstasy pill craze... That doesn't seem to stop them.
Unfortunately, the government already has their meet hooks into the marijuana industry and they will get their way, eventually.
Decriminalization would save a great deal of misdirected resources.
Taxing the stuff would bring in a new revenue stream for governments.
Does it harm short term memory, inhibit learning, deaden the emotions and interfere with judgement (particularly of spatial relationships, which is critical in driving)? Yes. Do we already have more harmful drugs around ? Yes. Is the so called War On Drugs a fiasco and an expensive, continuing failure? Yes.

Well i am for the legalization of marijuana. I don't personally use it but I know from experience that I would much rather see it legalized and alcohol put under more restrictions...because it's a lot worse than weed.

I think it should be legalized. I know of many surgeons in my area that smoke it daily and do the surgery.......
