What are your best remidies for a cold?!
Question: My Dr. has prescribed nasonex and clarinex-d. Neither work. I have runny nose like crazy! Humidifier helps a little. Anyone have any remedies?

Good old Sudafed usually dries up runny noses the best, but I tend not to use it cause it makes me feel kind of dizzy and jittery. Most people that use it are fine..I'm just sensitive to med's. Make sure you get the original psuedophedrine kind which is behind the counter now (depending on where you live) not the other stuff that is the alternative out on the shelves.

a warm tea with honey

sit in the bathroom and breath in the steam from a hot shower
It's call a hot tottie 1 shot of whiskey and hot tea. drink it hot.
lemon juice with honey
My favorite is a kicked-up Bloody Mary
n this order in the glass:
ice
1 clove garlic through a press
1 tsp. prepared horseradish (not the sauce, that stuff is like mayo)
1/4 tsp hot pepper flakes or sauce, or cayenne pepper
1 tsp dijon mustard
S & P
6 oz tomato juice
1 shot vodka (if you are old enough)
Stir and enjoy. Can repeat every two hours with chicken soup.
