Red yeast rice or Cholest off?!

Question: Which works better? Any personal experiences? Thanks

Actually, the_only_solorose is only half-right on that. The FDA did "win the right" to ban the form of Red Yeast Rice that was on the market, but she misunderstood the rest of it.
The FDA's complaint was that the formulation of RYR on the market (which was understood as being a standardized extract) had too much of the naturally occurring Statins in it. What they required was that the highest potency of the RYR was a full-spectrum (no higher potency than it's natural form). The Statins were not completely removed, they just had to be reduced to what was naturally occurring in the straight product.... if the Statins were completely removed, it would be about as effective as grass because the natural Statins are what actually give the benefits.

I just did a search and found the "CholestOff" website. It lists that CholestOff is simply Plant Sterols and Stanols, which are other ingredients that help Cholesterol health similarly to how RYR does.
Simply put, they're just two different choices that could technically be used together, but they may be too potent when used together. Either way, you'd want to check with a licensed healthcare practitioner before taking either or both of these, especially if you're taking anything else for Cholesterol. Good luck!

red rice yeast is a natural statin, however, you cannot buy it in the US anymore because the pharmeceutical industry sued and won the right to ban them here. There are still products available that are called red rice yeast but the statins that they contained have been removed. They can also be somewhat dangerous as there is no control on how much statin the product may contain. Cholestoff, I have not had much dealings with, so I cannot comment on that.

I just bought my dad red yeast rice.
One a day with your last meal.
I was told it worked the best.
Good luck!
