Hi Ayla,

Six capsules sounds like a very high dosage. I weigh twice as much as you, and take 150 to 300 a day of SJW, standardized .3 hypericin, and it works just fine.

With St. John's wort, too much can cause vivid dreaming. Every once in a while, I skip a day because of it.

In Germany where doctors must pass a test on herbs to get their medical license, St. John's wort is prescribed 50% of the time or more for depression.

Originally it was thought to be good only for mild to moderate depression. But a more recent study indicates that it works very well for severe depression, too.

They say it can take a month to notice the effects. In my case it took four to five days.

The best to you.

Kelley

If you are taking it for depression, it WON'T work and might make things worse. It can boost the immune system. Always start with the minimum dose and work your way up in case you might have an allergy to it.

i have only tried the plants

Stick to the directions on the bottle. With it being herbal it shouldn't do you any harm. It will probably take up to a month before you will feel the benefit. Do gentle exercise as this has a good feel factor. I took them for a short time, did give me a lift.
Best wishes.

I only take 2 150 mg tablets. One every morning and one every night.
