Sleep HELP!!!!!?!

Question: Does anyone know some home remedies for sleeping better.

Answers: Does anyone know some home remedies for sleeping better.

good sleep hygiene - not watching TV right before bed, no caffeine in the afternoon...it is also recommended to get out of bed and do something relaxing if insomnia strikes...as opposed to laying in bed and dwelling ....

you should also be midful of your stress levels, as sleep is affected by elevated stress

PS- don't rely on sleeping pills ....you will just get dependent and won't be able to sleep well if u stop taking them. alcohol is no good either- it decreases the amount of REM sleep you get, which means that the quality of your sleep will decrese as well, and u are more likely to wake up tired and be less refreshed if u don't get enough REM hours.

try drinking some herbal tea (chamomille) before bed , or a glass of milk. sometimes, valerian root supplements can help you relax....

sweet dreams ! :)

drink warm milk and lay of your stomach and put on a sleepy song

no i dont but i know that it is not hard to go to the doctor and get sleeping pills, all you really have to do is tell him that you cant sleep well and he will give you some lol. well at least in canada its that easy, idk about in usa.

Stay awake for 48 hours, you'll sleep like you have never slept before....First go buy a soft under quilt...It goes under the sheet and ontop of the matress

put some lavender oil on your pillow thats supposed to help. Or if you get really desperate, go for the tylenol pm, it works wonders

achol!!!!!just kidding
but exercise that always make you crash

Try drinking some camomille tea (i'm not sure that is spelled right) or some other drinking teas. they work good.

no!! i don't but you need sleep

Work out. It wears your body out and relieves pent up tension and stress which is the main reason people lose sleep these days. Also, a healthy diet. Stay away from soda and processed food.

you can take melatonin pills. its naturally in your body and the higher the level of it, the better you will sleep.

if you have any lavendar body spray- spray it on your pillow. or eat leftover turkey- it has some ingradient that makes you sleepy:-)

do exercise during the day or something that makes you tired, you will sleep better at night for sure

meditation/yoga to reduce stress, take a warm bath with chamomile and/or lavendar, if you need sound, try a relaxation cd or a soudscapes machine (i forget what they are called exactly), but they have forest sounds, ocean sounds, etc. ..one trick that worked well for me, is to turn your digital clock away from where you can see it. the red numbers will keep you awake and looking at the clock all night. i went as far as to change bedrooms ..worked like a charm because too much light was coming in the old room.
good luckl~

Drink Soup or a warm glass of milk I've

noticed that doing either or keeping your

stomach a little busy during sleep lets just relax

& get some shut eye.

a hot bath, maybe light some candles, have some warm milk, or try a cup of chamomile tea or sleepytime tea~both made by celestial seasonings, DO NOT work out 3 hours before you go to bed. stay away from caffeine late in the afternoon.
try readin a book, and pray!

Try to not to let sleep problems fill your head - even if it is 3:00 a.m. If necessary get up, read a little or watch some TV to break the cycle and then try again - but you can't force it ... just let it happen.
Give some thought to what it is that's spoiling your sleep. I have found that getting up and making a list of anything that is bugging me helps. If possible, I also try to jot down just one idea of what I could do about it. Undefined problems have a way of growing out of proportion and playing on your mind. If you cut them down to size by writing them down, it is easier to get it into proportion and easier to see a way of beating it, one step at a time.
I agree with earlier suggestions about sleep hygiene but would add the idea of keeping your sleeping area just for sleep - not hobbies or study or work. It is a special place where nothing else intrudes. If you've got a problem, allow yourself to walk away from it until the next day. It can be amazing how different it looks after a good night's sleep. Of course we all have to study or work in some way so it is a good idea to leave a space between working and trying to sleep - maybe fit in a few of the relaxation techniques others have mentioned. And if you happen not to sleep too well one night, try not to worry about it. Who says every night has to be the same. Good luck.

Not exactly. Have u tried Massage Therapy, Swedish massage is sweet.

I have rapid heart beat which makes it very diffucult to sleep. I take an herbal mixture called Sleepy Time Tea by Celesterial Seasonings. Also the melatonin pills mentioned earlier are very good as well.

Drink a cup of warm milk.
