Unfortunately, different people respond differently to different products, so even if you find the best for the general population, it may not work the best for you.
That being said, any of the acid blockers can give you a lot of problems if you eat foods that require a lot of digestion (more dense or more alkaline items). If your stomach doesn't have enough acid in it, it won't digest as well, and that's effectively what the acid blockers do. The biggest problem comes if you take minerals supplementally (especially like a Calcium pill). The most common problem with long-term use of the acid blockers are problems with Calcium including bone problems and kidney stones because if you can't digest the Calcium, it may get deposited in your body if it isn't excreted out.
As with any drug, be careful and do your homework before taking it... weigh the benefits and side effects carefully. Oh, and it's a good idea to do research online so you'll see all the side effects listed, even if the drug company doesn't claim some of them (which I've seen happen more with long-term effects).
