Went to a dermatologist for acne help, give me some advice please....10pts best answer, read on!?!

Question: Okay, I have been prescribed Differin .1% Gel and an antibiotic for my acne. The antibiotic is a two week pill that I take twice daily. After how many days should I notice a difference from the pills? Do they really work? Also, walgreens gave me enough pills for a full month, not just two weeks, so should I do two weeks, like the doc said or should I take the full month's worth?

It may take several days or weeks for you to notice a difference in your skin. Be patient! Differin and antibiotics are a good combination and you'll likely have excellent results if you follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Also, don't be concerned if you breakout a little bit. This sometimes happens, but it's usually a sign that it's working and you'll see results soon.

Call your doctor and ask him if you should take the antibiotic for 2 weeks or a month. He may want you to make an appt for two weeks to check your progress.

I know somebody who has dealt with acne for quite some time, and still does. She's at her wits end on how to get rid of it, has tried many prescription drugs to help, although nothing seems to work. She's recently about to try a product called Exposed, that has mostly natural active ingredients, compared to chemically produced ones. Be careful with any drugs you take for it, as some of them can have serious side-effects, including but not limited to yeast infections. I attached the website for Exposed, if you want to give it a try.

wow. its hard to say. i too have acne but its only a lower-medium level. i take antiobiotics and have a topical cream as well, but for you i am not sure how powerful your antibiotics are. my acne showed a large reduction, but this was after a month and a half or so. i know of a few dietary changes that would make a big difference but i don't know if you would care about those. i need points, so if you gave them to me i could tell you some diet changes. but that would only matter if you were interested.

might as well take them all

This is the stupidest idea I have ever heard of. First of all using antibiotics for anything but a brief period is dangerous and can lead to antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics kill not only bad bacteria but also the good bacteria in your system that allows your body to heal itself. All that taking that many antibiotics is going to do is make you dependent on the doctor and then you'll have big yellow pimples from all the yeast in your system. Some of these doctors should have their license revoked. Good luck and I hope this helps you!

Well, I can understand your urge to know about it. You may be curious about this matter and it
