Are Inositol supplements beneficial (Inositol is a non-essential vitamin)?!
Question: ive read that it helps with anxiety / depression in high doses but if its a non-essential vitamin. why cant the body just make enough for its needs? isnt supplementation unneccessary?

Hey Quantum. "Non-essential vitamin" is an oxymoron because a vitamin By Definition is essential. Inositol is NOT a vitamin. However, inositol can be beneficial as a supplement for some people.
The medical journal American Family Physician (Aug. 15, 2007) states: " Inositol has been found to have modest effects in patients with panic disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder."
I personally take Inositol Hexaphosphate supplements because there is a large body of scientific research showing it can reduce the risk of kidney stone formation in patients with a high urine pH (pH above 6.5) - a chronic health issue for me.
Best wishes.
