Ever used commit lozenges or niccorette gum?!

Question: Have you used either of these to quit smoking? Did it work for you or someone you know? How long did it take till you fully quit smoking?

Neither one worked. The gum tastes terrible and it tells you not to drink anything while you chew it, but it tastes so bad that you have to drink something and you end up with an upset stomach. I didn't bother with the lozenges because I hated the gum. I even tried the patch. The patch works great if you are addicted to that exact amount of nicotine in that patch. If not, then it's either too strong or too weak and you have to put it in a different spot everyday or you'll get a rash on that spot.

None of those products helped me quit and I tried numerous times. I felt like I was trading a nicotine addiction (cigarettes) for a nicotine addiction (gum/patches), so I was not actually quitting. I have since quit and I did it by using Chantix (made by Pfizer). It's not cheap, but it's worth it. I smoked the first week like it said to (a pack a day) and by the 5th day I was down to a half a pack, 6th day 6 cigarettes, and 7th day 5 cigarettes. Day 8, quit and haven't looked back. I have been quit for 1 week now and I haven't thought about a cigarette nor have I had the grumpy's, the jitters, or a craving for 1.

Just a thought. Good luck to you.

tried the lozenges, they made me ill. if you really want to quit, and you have insurance, go to your dr and ask for chantix. It works!! the cost if you have to pay yourself is $100-$130, depending on where you buy it, for a month's worth. three months and you will be free, some need it a bit longer but not much....good luck

both of those are addicting too...your better off with the patch...i know it burns and it makes your arm go numb...but it works....just use it with the antidepresent pill that helps you quit (the name escapes me now)...that worked for me...after several failed attempts with just the patch....good luck!! :)
