Medical Freedom, are we loosing it?!

I've met quite a few people in the health freedom movement.
By my understanding, the situation now is slightly better, at least in california, because government raids on people that sell supplements and stuff are now illegal (along with the SLAPP provision being passed), but it's definitely an uphill battle.
In at least the US, the biggest threat to health freedom is stuff that makes the government more internation (ie. wto).
Some health freedom people who spoke at one of my classes actually mentioned the MD that signed the declarition of independence and made a very accurate prediction of what would happen if health freedom wasn't put in the constitution. Besides that, the main guy in congress that's done a lot of work for the health freedom movement is Ron Paul, so if you really care about that you should try supporting his campaign.
I kind of disagree about that. People who have insurance are covered and people who are destitute are provided medical care by the government. It's people in the middle who have difficulty getting health care. Insurance is so expensive that it takes a high paying job to be able to afford it and so working people who make less than $20-15/hr make too much money to qualify for government help but not enough to afford insurance. Kind of discouraging, isn't it?

It's been happening since somewhere around 1916 or thereabouts when the Flexner Report came out. Then in the 1990's the DSHEA Act was passed which made things a little bit better but not nearly good enough.
There is a likelihood that it could turn south again with the Codex Alimentarium, otherwise known as the Codex, getting accepted here...without anyone in the US voting on it!
I'm not making this up.
We've signed onto the World Trade Organization (WTO) with Europe that says we have to accept the Codex decisions or our US exporters will suffer fines.
Well, those exporting industries are much larger than the natural food industry. So there will be more lobbyists on the exporters' side than on the side of the natural food industry.
It will mean that supplements will probably triple in price as they already have in Europe. The potencies will go down as well...some drastically. Some supplements that are available now would disappear.

Why of course, The drug companies own Uncle Sam. And dictate what to say. The FDA is owned by the drug companies. And they all say alt. med is the source of all evil. It cures Cancer and Aids and Herpes to name a few. Thats Alt. Meds.
He got that right. There are forces who have tried for over 200 years to set themselves up as a monopoly for healthcare. Luckily that has not succeeded, and the public still has a right to choose what helps the best from their own experience.
They keep trying though, and will succeed if Americans don't remain vigilant.

If you ever see this identity and you see name calling, like calling hard working chiropractors quacks again... It does violate Yahoo's questions and answers under the definition, "trolling."
