How can I make my own massage oil?!

Question: Anybody have any tips? What base oils do you like? What essential oils do you add?

coconut oil is best!! you can add all sorts of yummy scents to it. i mix it with grape seed oil too. I buy both at asian markets in the cooking isle.

For economy we use unscented Baby Oil as the base. We get through a lot, because I give my husband a full body massage every night - no, don't get excited - this is for purely practical reasons, his work, age and lots of old injuries make it necessary:) We both like sandalwood and patchouli for scent.

Personally I LOVE coconut oil as it solidifies when it is cool and melts when it's warm. It lasts too. The essential oils depend on what you are trying to accomplish. I like Clove Bud oil when working on someone with respiratory or sinus problems, it's very....smelly in a good way but works wonders for a head cold. Don't use too much though. Lavendar works well with people under lots of stress, I also like Frankincense and Myrrh for their healing properties. I tend to give bottles to my friends who are handling hard diseases or lots of stress in their life.

I use this blend for my massage needs.
Purified water, safflower oil, glycerin, jojoba oil, avocado oil, apricot oil, sweet almond oil, sesame oil, grape seed oil, sea kelp extract, lecithin, and cucumber extract.
The essential oils added are at clients' needs.
