Early in an infection of a pilonidal cyst, the redness, swelling, and pain may be minimal. Sitting in a warm tub may decrease the pain and may decrease the chance that the cyst will develop to the point of requiring incision and drainage.
To completely cure the condition, all involved tissue usually needs to be removed. This is a more extensive surgical procedure than simple I & D. The surgical wound may be closed with sutures or left open to heal from the inside.
doing it at home wil not cure it you wil need to have it removed... but honestly saying that i have had two removed and both have flared back up, the last time mine flared up i was reluctant to go to the doctors so i looked on the web for home remedies and the one that worked for was amazin and fast reults.....wet some guaze in water as hot as you can handle it, aply some sea salt (must be sea salt and no other) and frimly press against the cyst hold for twenty mins (it can be a tad painful and you will feel it burning, but thats good cus its bring the bad stuff to the surface, do this every few hours, a pain i know, at night do it again but tape down the gauze, by morning you should see a major diff, do this till its gone. hope you get it sorted.
just sit on sea salt warm water for 5mins,then wipe dry apply Active 25 or 15 manuka honey on it then cover with gauze.do this before going to bed and in the morning(twice a day)please dont take spicy food.my son had same problem and he cured it.he dont have to go for operation.good luck to you:)
